When dissecting cadavers anatomists noticed that there are muscle groups that have more prominently connecting fascial lines throughout the body. This is helpful to know as a potential solution to injury, as well as in repatterning ideal movement. When if a trigger point or just an adhesion exist on one of these muscle groups- it is directly effecting the rest of the muscles on that line. Therefore releasing any adhesions on the corresponding line will create slack in the entire line.

Its also helpful to see how entire lines tend to be either shortened or lengthened due to gravity and repetitive movement.
